Pluvial Nocturne: Subtitle Piano Solo Last Rain Ⅰ in C Minor OP. 1. The opening song of my piano solo album “Last Rain OP.1” is a C minor with the theme of quiet and soothing rain. In order to highlight the theme, I chose to use 6/8 beats for writing. The prelude starts with arpeggios with three tones in groups to create a light rain atmosphere. In chord progression, I boldly use the five levels and four levels forbidden in classical music. The anti-function creates an unresolved sense of listening, making the melody and atmosphere more continuous and quiet. Later, in the development of interlude melody, Dorian mode was borrowed to create a sense of comfort and expectation with 6 degrees, describing the timeliness of the light rain, and then chords were constructed with the root sound downward. The mood turned into calm and profound, making the whole song’s feelings tend to be affectionate and elegant.
