“Unspoken” is an original chamber music work created for the piano and string quintet. It tries to depict a complex psychological state of “it’s hard to say what you want to say.

The work revolves around hesitation, pause and inner struggle, like a moment when you want to move forward but hesitate, and want to express but can’t speak. Through delicate melodic lines, restrained emotional propulsion and rich acoustic changes, music creates a psychological space in which time seems to be stagnant.

The piano and string quintet alternate, echo and dialogue, showing the change of emotion between depression and release. The work uses a large number of non-functional harmony and tonic color conversion to keep the music uncertain and fluid, while expressing the emotional tension gradually accumulated deep inside through strong dynamic contrast.

The orchestrator is based on the preparation of chamber music, highlighting the delicate interaction between piano and strings. Soft melodies, tense harmonies and dramatic changes in intensity create an atmosphere of solitude, contemplation, restraint and storytelling.
