“Love” is a chamber music work for dance, which uses the violin and cello solo as the two main parts, with the piano and string group as the accompaniment and background.
The work runs through the dialogue of two stringed instruments-the violin is bright and smart, the cello is deep and firm, sometimes intertwined and chasing each other, and the different gestures of love are outlined in the music: the careful temptation at the first encounter, the hot interweaving at the time of love, the tearing opposition at the time of dispute, and the tacit understanding and watch that finally settles down.
The piano uses a flowing texture to lay out the background of time, while the string group uses long harmonies to contrast the depth of emotion. The whole song adopts a double-movement conception in structure-the first chapter is slowly unfolded with a flexible board, and the second chapter is pushed to the enthusiasm with an allegro. The two contrasts are just like the two poles of still water and fire in the world of love. The three levels-the “shape” of the solo, the “potential” of the accompaniment, and the “environment” of the background, together build a multi-dimensional narrative space about love in response to the dance.
This is an artistic attempt to explore emotional expression with pure instrumental language, and it is also a musical picture tailored for dance body language.
